Where it all began
Prado Bans is from the Woodlawn community of the notorious South side of Chicago, Illinois. In a city ripped with gang violence, a close nit and spiritual family is what Prado believes kept him from succumbing to joining the Black Disciples gang which controlled the streets belonging to the neighborhood he was raised in. In an effort to avoid the drugs and violence that ran rampant in his neighborhood Prado’s family decided to relocate to Atlanta, Ga. Prado spent the majority of his adolescent years spending his summer vacations in Chicago. As a teenager Prado became wrapped up in the “cracking cards” scheme that had become a trend nationwide and while the perks of fast money were alluring, the violence that came with it was seemingly inevitable. It wasn’t long before it became common practice for him to keep a gun at all times so that he wouldn’t get “caught lacking”. Unfortunately, and as fate would have it, from 2012-2015 Prado had a string of legal woes stemming upwards from narcotics and firearm possession that kept him from making the career jump into the music industry that he planned to.
With his legal woes behind him, for the most part, Prado is now positioning himself to make the waves he knows that he is capable of. Prado began his journey in music by interning at Doppler Studio where he was learning the basics of audio engineering. While interning, Prado became more motivated to rap and sites GucciMane as being his inspiration after working several studio sessions alongside him and seeing hit records put together right in front of his eyes. Working as an intern afforded Prado the relationships he needed to get a start on his music career as he had planned to get started on in the new year of 2012. His sound can be classified as a blend of Hyphy/Trillwave and Trap which works well with his choice of communicating his experiences through the eyes of someone who has lived a very dynamic lifestyle; which ultimately ranges from street life, heartbreak, and dream chasing in today’s hostile economy.
